Megan & Tommy’s Big Talbot Island Beach Maternity Session

Portrait photography is all about relationships. It’s all about capturing the dynamics between people and their families, friends, profession, and what have you. And sometimes you’re lucky enough to capture the stories that create those dynamics along the way. Justin and I photographed Megan and Tommy’s engagement session and wedding several years ago. Then I photographed their first maternity session, as well as their daughter’s newborn session. We did Christmas photos for them this past year. And now I’ve photographed their second maternity session for their little boy, coming this Fall.

We all know each other, which means we’re not starting from scratch every time we do a session. They know how I work, and I know what kinds of photos they’ve liked the most in the past. It’s a relationship, and it means even when toddlers act like toddlers (it’s inevitable!), we all know we’re going to get good photos out of the session. That is one of the huge benefits of working with the same photographer over and over again, and it’s why I love working with past clients! We grow with each other.

I’m so excited for this family to welcome their little boy in just a couple months. Life is a crazy adventure, and it’s such a pleasure being able to capture these memories that they will look back on for years and years to come.
